Successful Wife Tips #1
Marriage is not easy, but it is half our deen and if you put your heart into and ask Allah swt to bless it, marriage can be the most beautiful thing. That doesn’t mean you can just want you marriage to be awesome, sometimes we have to put a little effort.
Sometimes we forget to make our spouse feel special, or let them know we were thinking of them. But, subnallah little things can make a HUGE difference.
The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) used to accept gifts and used to give something in return.” [Sahih Bukhari] Gift giving increases love and affection among people and I believe this to be especially true amongst married people.
It doesn’t even have to be big. My husband loves fresh herbs and while at Target today, I found this little growing kit for a dollar. It is nothing outrageous, but it made me think of him and inchAllah, this little token of my love will strengthen our bond.
If we give presents to each other because it is the Sunnah of Allah’s Beloved Messenger and because following his Sunnah will make Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) pleased with us, then this gift giving is praiseworthy

I’m watching it right now! Mashallah, so beautiful to see this man and his family at the Oscars. InchAllah, I hope this film opens just one person’s eyes to the truth. May Allah swt reward him greatly.

How to Deal with People Staring at you and your Hijab:
I have been wearing hijab for several years now, alhamdulilah. The entire duration of that time, I have also had people stare at me. I have had people stare in a nice way, stare in a mean way, stare inquisitively, run into things because of their staring, and even talk about me and stare…. right in my face.
I have never been a confrontational person, so I usually pretend that they are invisible. Today, I felt brave though. There was an old man ( it usually tends to be older folks) staring so hard, I thought his eyeballs were going to pop out. In my head…I thought, “Is this guy serious? Does he think I am blind?”
“Enough is Enough,” I told myself. “I’ve had it.” But I am not a mean person, I couldn’t bring myself to say something nasty, so I walked by him, with a surprised look on my face, and said….”Do I have a booger in my nose or something.” His face immediately changed to a smile, and we both started giggling. He knew he was caught. He proceeded to apologize, and I told him it was alright. I told him to have a good evening and we went our separate ways.
I’ve decided this is my new approach to people staring. Maybe if I can break the ice a little, show them I am just a normal human being…. they will remember that next time they see a hijabi and she will be saved from that awful stare off.
